This Study & Revision Pack has been designed to meet all the requirements of students working towards the new 1.5 Business Mathematics and Information Technology examination.
The pack begins with a revision section on basic mathematics, which students have to understand fully to tackle with confidence the ACCA examination paper. The authors go on to deal with all the mathematics essential to the day-to-day work of accountants: mathematical techniques, financial mathematics, the presentation and summarisation of data and probability are all covered in depth. In the information technology section a very practical approach is again taken, with discussion concentrating on information and data processing systems, software, new systems development and the application of information technology in the office. Every chapter concludes with review questions to give students plenty of opportunity to monitor progress, and the Pack is completed by an extensive question and answer bank, with examples of both computational and essay questions, together with two model examination questions for authentic revision practice.
As in the syllabus, the emphasis throughout the Pack is on comprehension, techniques and the practicalities of the business environment in which these skills will be required. The materials is therefore built up in a logical, easy-to-follow style with frequent illustrations and up-to-date examples, making this an idela book for use both in class and when studying alone.
