However, when a country develops its own technology or transfers technology from outside, such technology would not contribute much to national development unless efficiently and effectively diffused within the country. The Asian Productivity Organization is among the first to deal with this important aspect of technical transfer through a Symposium on Intra-National Transfer of Technology organised in 1975. Experts in the field of technology transfer from the United States, Japan and other Asian countries who had attended the Symposium were requested to rewrite their papers to form part of this publication, where as the symposium findings were edited and presented in a concise manner.
