The book has been designed especially to serve as a textbokk for an introductory course or sequence of courses on operation research. Because of the flexibility, the book can readily be used for a course of study as short as a quarter or as long as a year, with an opportunity for a wide variability of emphasis in the selection of topics. The material in the book is presented primarily from a mathematical viewpoint, although at a relatively elementary level. The intention is to acquaint the student with the more important models and techniques of operation research.
